Notice from the Competition Committee

Firstly, on behalf of the Competition Committee, may I say a big thank you to all the instructors and students who have fully cooperated and fully supported us in getting to this 1st year stage of the new restructured competition program. There are a number of key people who have given up much of their time to make this happen, and for whom we owe an enormous amount of gratitude and appreciation.

The focus of the new competition program was to shorten the length of the day; whilst at the same time include as much variety as possible to give everyone the chance to compete.

We have come a long way since the 2017 mass training seminar, where we introduced the first of the new events: Team Synchronised Kedh and Team Creative Controlled Breaking.

The idea was to give the students time to adjust and reconfirm their understanding of the basics and the training regimes around Kedh structures. We also wanted to focus the student around the early stages of conditioning and preparing their skills for breaking.

This has been an ambitious first step in attempting to move forward with a new look and approach to our Association’s competition format. There has been a tremendous amount of work performed behind the scenes, which has been essential in the development of the new competition program, and there is still much more exciting stuff to come over the next two years.

We are excited and proud to present this year’s competition and hope all will enjoy the occasion.

Spectators are very welcome – Admission Free!

Remember students of all grades are taking part including the Black Belts. It is a great opportunity for everyone to see all of our grades performing, and our Black Belts in action demonstrating their skills.

Venue: Loughborough Leisure Centre, Browns Lane, Loughborough, LE11 3HE.

The venue we have booked has excellent changing rooms and there is a refreshment area with vending machines for hot and cold drinks, but we do advise that you bring your own packed lunch and snack to eat through the day’s events.

Doors will open at 9:30am and registration will commence with the hope to be complete by 10:00am.

So please be on time so registration can be completed.

The events are scheduled to start at 10:00am, and the competition will finish by 4:00pm.

Sincerely

Ustad Brian Waumsley

Competition Chairman
