MacMillan Cancer Support

Support your local club raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support between now and Friday 9th June 2023.

Speak with your club instructor and suggest ideas for raising money.

Examples are:

  • Coffee morning with family and friends
  • Cocktail evenings
  • Picnic in the park
  • BBQ event or cake sales
  • A sponsored event like ‘brave the shave’, ‘press-up challenge’ or even a ‘sponsored silence’.

We think you can be even more creative than this, though remember, sometimes the simpler the better!

Did you Know?

We estimate that there are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK, rising to 3.5 million by 2025, 4 million by 2030, and 5.3 million by 2040.

In 2019, around 391,000 people were diagnosed with cancer, in the UK.

On average someone is diagnosed with cancer every 90 seconds, in the UK.

In 2019, around 167,000 people died from cancer in the UK, an average of 460 people every day.

What can we do?

At this year’s New Year party, we raised just under £200.00 from the raffle, this money is going to be donated to MacMillan Cancer Support, in association with the Greene King pub group.

Mr Dhaliwal wanted to make an additional donation of £300.00 on behalf of himself to such a worthy cause.

We believe as an association we could raise even more; therefore, we are asking every Instructor, every Blackbelt, every club and every student to get creative and see if they can raise an additional £250.00 over the next 6 weeks.
